On October 9, 2025, at 9:18 p.m., a Central Precinct officer responded to the 1500 Block of Northwest 13th Avenue on a call regarding an assault. At the scene, officers located the victim, an adult male, who said he was assaulted by two suspects who punched him and pistol-whipped him. The victim sustained serious head injuries. A handgun magazine was recovered at the scene.

Through an investigation by Major Crime Teams detectives, it was determined this was not a random attack and an adult suspect and juvenile suspect were identified.

On October 24, 2025, a Multnomah County Grand Jury indicted the adult suspect. On November 7, 2025, with the assistance of East Metro SWAT, PPB served a warrant on the suspects' residence. Jonathan Ramirez-Cisneros, 18, of Gresham was arrested and lodged in the Multnomah County Detention Center on Assault in the Second Degree, Attempted Assault in the First Degree, Assault in the Third Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Harassment. The second suspect, a 15-year-old male, was lodged in the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Home (JDH) and charged with Assault in the Second Degree, Assault in the Third Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.
