The President congratulated Australia on national day

On Monday, President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to Australia's Governor-General Sam Mostyn and all the people of Australia on their national day.

Gitanas Nausėda highlighted that Lithuania and Australia enjoy friendly relations. This year, the two countries mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations. "We reaffirm our commitment to further deepening a comprehensive dialogue based on shared democratic values. I am confident that we will continue to successfully develop political, economic, and academic cooperation and strengthen our partnership in the field of security," the message of congratulations reads.

The Lithuanian leader expressed his belief that, in the face of global challenges, the two countries will continue to uphold their commitments and cooperation within international organizations in order to preserve the international rules-based order.

"Our cooperation within NATO and the Indo-Pacific Four (IP4) format is particularly important in addressing security threats and strengthening peace and stability in our regions. Lithuania sincerely appreciates Australia's continued support for Ukraine and the resolve it demonstrates in defending sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the fundamental principles of international law," the President underlined.

President Gitanas Nausėda expressed his delight that the active Lithuanian community in Australia contributes to Australia's prosperity and promotes mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and long-term friendship between the two nations.

On national day, Gitanas Nausėda wished all the people of Australia well-being, prosperity, and a firm belief in a bright future.
