Israel/Palestine: Statement by the Spokesperson on the situation in the West Bank

10.03.2026 EEAS Press Team

The level of violence in the West Bank is unacceptable.

Since 28 February, six Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank as a result of extremist settler attacks, with many more communities attacked, properties damaged and livelihoods destroyed, displacing people out of their homes and leaving them without a shelter.

The EU calls on the Israeli authorities to take immediate and effective action to prevent further attacks against Palestinian civilians and to ensure accountability. Impunity for such acts risks provoking further violence. The EU urges the Government of Israel to abide by its obligations under international law to protect the Palestinian population in the occupied territory.
