BOSTON - A Rockland man was sentenced today in federal court in Boston for conspiring to distribute fentanyl following a series of controlled drug purchases in Brookline and Boston.
Kerry Charlotin, a/k/a "KG," 36, of Rockland, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Leo T. Sorokin to 88 months in prison, to be followed by four years of supervised release. In July 2026, Charlotin pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute fentanyl. Charlotin was arrested and charged in December 2025 along with co-conspirator Shaquylle Burden.
In June 2025, an investigation began into drug trafficking activities conducted by Charlotin and his co-conspirator Burden. The investigation revealed that the defendants were actively trafficking significant quantities of fentanyl and other controlled substances in the greater Boston area.
On various dates in 2025, Charlotin coordinated with Burden and met repeatedly with a federal cooperating witness to conduct controlled sales of fentanyl. During the course of the investigation, Charlotin and Burden sold more than 280 grams of fentanyl, along with other controlled substances.
Following the controlled purchases, search warrants were executed in December 2025, including of Charlotin's person after he was located and arrested in South Carolina, and at multiple residences in Massachusetts. During the searches, additional cocaine base, a loaded 9mm pistol and approximately 131.5 grams of cocaine were recovered. The cocaine was packaged in plastic bags that had been unsuccessfully attempted to be flushed down a toilet. One firearm was also recovered from Burden's Roslindale residence at the time of his arrest.
At the time of these offenses, Charlotin was serving a term of supervised release following a prior federal conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, for which he had previously served a five-year federal prison sentence.
Burden was sentenced to five years in prison for his role in the conspiracy on Oct. 19, 2026.
United States Attorney Leah B. Foley; Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Boston; and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox made the announcement today. Valuable assistance was provided by the FBI's Columbia Field Office in South Carolina. Assistant U.S. Attorney John T. Dawley of the Organized Crime & Gang Unit is prosecuting the case.
