ASLA Fund Receives Contribution from Honda to Address Support for Greener, More Resilient Communities

The ASLA Fund has received a $75,000 contribution from Honda to support Greening Communities with Landscape Advisory Panels.

May 11, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC, May 11, 2026 - The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) Fund today announced a $75,000 contribution from Honda to support Greening Communities with Landscape Advisory Panels (LAPs). The contribution will help advance the organization's work to provide underserved communities with expert-design technical assistance. This assistance will help them plan high-impact, nature-based solutions that reduce carbon emissions, manage extreme heat, and improve local air and water quality.

"We are incredibly grateful for Honda's support, which allows us to bridge the 'missing middle' in community planning," said Torey Carter-Conneen, CEO of the ASLA Fund. "By connecting underserved communities with the expert-design technical assistance of Landscape Advisory Panels, we are helping local leaders turn their community goals into shovel-ready projects that will protect residents for generations to come."

The Honda contribution will support the development of five to six Landscape Advisory Panels (LAPs) across the United States. These panels are specifically designed to help communities that have the will to implement nature-based solutions - such as urban forests and bioswales - but lack the initial planning resources to qualify for large-scale federal and state infrastructure funding. By providing this "early stage" design expertise, the ASLA Fund and Honda are empowering local communities to compete for the billions of dollars available in climate resilience grants, ultimately leading to healthier, more equitable, and more resilient neighborhoods.

Honda is focused on reducing carbon emissions, utilizing clean energy, conserving resources, and helping nature thrive as part of its commitment to creating a better world for future generations. Through its Environment pillar, Honda supports programs that align with its mission to reduce environmental impact.
