NEET 2026 Round 3 Choice Filling Process Closes on September 29: Will There be Extension

NEET UG Counselling 2026: Round 3 Choice Filling Deadline & Extension Possibility: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is currently conducting Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 for 15% All India Quota (AIQ), Deemed, Central Universities, AFMC, AIIMS, and JIPMER seats. As per the official schedule released on the MCC website, choice filling for Round 3 was opened on September 23, 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on September 28, 2026, at 12:00 PM (Server Time). Additionally, choice locking will be available from 7:00 PM on September 27, 2026, up to 12:00 PM on September 28, 2026. Candidates aiming to secure MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc Nursing seats must lock their choices before the given deadline to be considered for seat allotment.

Will MCC Extend NEET UG Round 3 Choice Filling 2026 Deadline?

While many medical aspirants are wondering if MCC will extend the Round 3 choice filling deadline, official updates indicate that no extension has been officially announced. According to the MCC schedule, processing of seat allotment takes place immediately after choice locking from September 28 to September 29, 2026, followed by the result declaration on September 30, 2026.

The total time allotted for counseling is limited, and participating institutes have been directed to treat all Saturdays, Sundays, and Gazetted Holidays as working days to avoid delays. Extension of earlier rounds occurred primarily due to PwD assessment window updates and administrative adjustments. Unless technical server issues arise or official notices are released at mcc.nic.in, candidates should complete their option entry well before the noon cutoff on September 28 without relying on a deadline extension. Following this round, fresh registration for the Online Stray Vacancy Round will begin from October 12 to October 14, 2026.
