UPDATE: Motorcyclist Killed in April 1st Crash Identified

The motorcyclist who died in this crash in Northeast Portland on April 1, 2026, has been identified as Lawrence Troiano, 66, of Portland. His family has been notified of his death.

The investigation determined that the rider's 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu on Northeast Sandy Boulevard just east of Northeast 138th Avenue.

No arrests have been made. No further information will be released at this time.

Motorcyclist Deceased After Crash With Vehicle

A motorcyclist has died in a crash with another vehicle in Northeast Portland. The Major Crash Team is responding to investigate.

On Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 12:54 a.m., officers from the North Precinct responded to reports of a crash between a motorcycle and vehicle at the intersection of Northeast Sandy Boulevard and Northeast 141st Drive. Paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the motorcycle rider to an area hospital, where they later died. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene.

The Portland Police Bureau Major Crash Team is responding to investigate. During the investigation, Northeast Sandy Boulevard will be closed between Northeast 138th Avenue and Northeast 141st Avenue.
