Chinese Embassy in Barbados Hosts Reception Celebrating the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

On September 28, the Chinese Embassy in Barbados held a reception to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. The Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Senator Christopher Sinckler, Minister of Home Affairs and Information Gregory Nicholls, Chief of Staff of Barbados Defence Force Brigadier Carlos Lovell, together with ministers, members of the parliament, government officials, representatives from diplomatic corps, friends from various sectors, and representatives of the Chinese community in Barbados, nearly 250 people in total, attended the reception.

In his remarks, Mr. Chen Chen, Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Chinese Embassy, said that the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping have provided Chinese solutions to global challenges. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the Chinese people have achieved remarkable development accomplishments that have drawn worldwide attention. As China makes a steady and strong start to its 15th Five-Year Plan period, solid progress is being made in pursuing high-quality economic development. China stands ready to work with Barbados to deepen political mutual trust, share development opportunities, expand practical cooperation, and deliver greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.

Foreign Minister Sinckler warmly congratulated the People's Republic of China on the 77th anniversary of its founding and spoke highly of the achievements of China-Barbados cooperation across various fields. He expressed Barbados' willingness to work with China to take bilateral relations to a new level.
