Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang is in Singapore for an Official Visit.
Earlier today, Premier Li called on Acting President Eddie Teo. They reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between Singapore and China established over the past 35 years. Acting President Teo and Premier Li welcomed the steady and substantive growth in cooperation between Singapore and China across various sectors. They discussed the importance of further deepening collaboration, leveraging existing bilateral platforms and projects, while also strengthening regional engagement through ASEAN. Acting President Teo and Premier Li also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
Premier Li attended the Singapore-China Business Roundtable hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong. Businesses from Singapore and China participated in the Roundtable and shared their views on opportunities and challenges operating in both markets. Deputy Prime Minister Gan encouraged businesses from both countries to pursue opportunities in emerging sectors of mutual interest.
Premier Li will depart Singapore this afternoon.
