City of Tempe Statement regarding Kathleen Tierney Notice of Claimdetail

The City of Tempe has received the Feb. 23 Notice of Claim submitted on behalf of Ms. Kathleen Tierney and will review it.
The decision to cancel the Aug. 28 Regular Tempe City Council meeting and initiate an investigation was made in response to information that was assessed as a credible public safety concern.
As the investigation progressed, all search warrants obtained were reviewed and approved by judges in accordance with Arizona law. As with any investigation, the Tempe Police Department followed established procedures. Ms. Tierney was treated no differently than any other member of the community under similar circumstances.
The safety of residents, city employees, and elected officials remains the City's highest priority.
