WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Louisiana Department of Natural Resources will receive $2,176,218.00 in funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration (PHMSA) to improve natural gas pipeline safety. The grant will support personnel, equipment, and activities needed to carry out inspections and implement safety improvements.
"Combined with investments from the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, these funds help ensure Louisiana's pipelines are safe, reliable, and properly maintained. Louisiana fuels the world with our LNG. Let's do it in the safest way possible," said Dr. Cassidy.
