Ciscomani Meets with Local Leadership to Discuss Preliminary $1.3 Million for Huachuca City Fire Department

Huachuca City, AZ - U.S. Representative Juan Ciscomani today visited Huachuca City to tout $1.3 million in federal funding he has preliminarily secured for the town's fire department for Fiscal Year 2027 (FY2027). Funding will help replace an aging fire engine with a quint ladder truck to enhance fire suppression, rescue, and emergency response capabilities in Huachuca City and beyond, through mutual aid resourcing between departments.

The funding passed the House Appropriations Committee's consideration of the Fiscal Year 2027 appropriations bills. Congress now needs to pass a budget for the President to sign this funding into law. As the only appropriator of the Arizona delegation in either the House or Senate, Congressman Ciscomani has fought to preliminarily secure this funding and other critical Community Project Funding (CPF) requests to provide Southern Arizona's communities with the support they need to flourish.

"As Arizona's sole appropriator in either the House or Senate, I have made it my mission to be a relentless advocate for Southern Arizona by listening to the needs of our communities and fighting to bring those priorities to Washington," Ciscomani said. These meaningful investments in Cochise County will improve and strengthen public safety by equipping our first responders with the tools necessary to do their job effectively, such as replacing an aging fire engine with a new quint ladder truck, to ensure that across Cochise County they are prepared to meet the moment when it matters most."

Congressman Ciscomani's efforts to support the needs of Huachuca City are praised by local leaders, including the town's mayor, Johann Wallace.

The Huachuca City Fire Department project is one of 20 CPF requests totaling $42.7 million that Congressman Ciscomani has preliminarily secured in FY2027 appropriations bills for projects across Arizona's Sixth Congressional District.

The $1.3 million for Huachuca City Fire Department is among a total of $7.3 million in FY2027 funding for Cochise County specifically. This total builds on the $4.6 million he secured for the county in 2024 for the Northern Cochise Community Hospital in Willcox and reconstruction of the Buffalo Soldier Trail in Sierra Vista, as well as almost $10 million he secured in 2026 for a runway at the Bisbee-Douglas International Airport, upgrades to Tombstone's water reclamation facility, and continued phasing of Sierra Vista's Buffalo Soldier Trail.
