The Organization of American States (OAS), through the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), and the Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications of Costa Rica (MICITT) will hold the CITEL 2030 Forum and the IX Regular Assembly of CITEL from March 16 to 19 at the Costa Rica Convention Center (CCCR) in San José.
The CITEL 2030 Forum, to be held on Monday, March 16, will bring together ministers, senior authorities, international organizations, and private sector representatives for a full day of dialogue on regional digital priorities. Discussions will address universal connectivity, digital inclusion, cybersecurity, satellite regulation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
On the afternoon of Monday, March 16, the Opening Ceremony of the Assembly will take place, with the participation of the Secretary General of the OAS, Albert R. Ramdin.
The IX Regular Assembly of CITEL , which will run through March 19, will convene delegations from the Member States to advance hemispheric cooperation in telecommunications and ICTs. The Assembly will review the 2026-2030 Strategic Plan, elect the authorities of COM/CITEL and the Permanent Consultative Committees, and consider proposals related to spectrum management, satellite services, regulatory coordination, and preparations for the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP 26).
