POSTPONED - Memorial Day weekend events

The City of Lewisville presents Let's Get Western Bull Bash, Saturday, May 23, 6:30-9:30 p.m. and Fiesta Charra, Sunday, May 24, 4-10:30 p.m., at Bill Weaver Arena, 101 Parkway Drive.

Let's Get Western Bull Bash, Saturday, May 23

** Due to the recent rains, Let's Get Western Bull Bash, originally scheduled for May 23, has been postponed. Conditions at Bill Weaver Arena are not suitable for performers, and the safety of all participants, staff and guests remains our top priority.

Staff is currently working to determine a reschedule date for this event, and will share updates as soon as they are confirmed. **

The Let's Get Western Bull Bash, presented by Vanguard GMC of Carrollton, kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Dustin Perkins Band will perform before the bull riding starts and during breaks in the action when results from the preliminary rounds of competition are tallied.

Tickets for Let's Get Western Bull Bash are $20 General Admission, $10 Kids ages 6-12, plus a 3% processing fee. Tickets are available online at ticketleap.com.

Limited public parking will be available at the rodeo grounds.

Fiesta Charra, Sunday, May 24

** Due to the recent rains, Fiesta Charra, originally scheduled for May 24, has been postponed. Conditions at Bill Weaver Arena are not suitable for performers, and the safety of all participants, staff and guests remains our top priority. This event will be rescheduled to Sunday, Sept. 6. **

Fiesta Charra is a free, family-friendly event will feature several activities of a traditional Charreada, which is like a rodeo and practiced in Mexico. Featured activities include Ballet Folklorico, Escaramuza Charra (a synchronized horse skirmish), a horse dancing show, pony rides, Luche Libre wrestlers, and a jalapeno eating contest.

Musical acts include Sol D La Kumbia, Andrea "Gotita," Quimikoz Del Son, and Aroma Notena Cultural dance performances by Ballet Folklorico, and Escaramuzas Cielto Lindo.

Limited public parking at the rodeo grounds will be available for $10 cash. Attendees also can park along the street where it's legally permitted; at North Point Church, 422 N. Mill Street; and at Lewisville City Hall, 151 W. Church Street. A free shuttle service will be running 3-11 p.m. from the east parking lot of City Hall.

Alcoholic beverages will be sold, and no outside food or drink will be allowed on the premises except for snacks and drinks for toddlers or special dietary restrictions. Glass containers, skateboards, bicycles, personal transport vehicles, and offensive or objectionable clothing are not allowed. Pets will be allowed inside the fairgrounds if they remain on a leash and their owner picks up after them. However, pets are not allowed on the shuttles
