CALEA is committed to distributing updated standards within 14 days of each conference. We understand these changes and/or minor updates are critically important to each of you and your agencies. The standards have been updated and are now live within PowerDMS.

As PowerDMS continues to provide the best in industry accreditation software, the continuous improvement of the product continues. With this update, you will not see the standard highlighting, however below is an explanation of what you will see and how it corresponds to the highlighting you will see again with an update that is scheduled to be released by PDMS in early September.

Current Behavior

DELETED text is getting displayed with strike through in BLACK

ADDED text is getting displayed with underline

Blue color continue to indicate that items have moved

Bold font continue to indicate edits

* The asterisk continues to indicate that one or more items underneath the marked item have been modified

After the update the system will revert to previous behavior where

Green color to indicate additions

Red color to indicate removal

Blue color to indicate moved

Bold font to indicate edits

And an * denotes that one or more items underneath the marked item have been modified.

You can still do a side-by-side comparison of the manual without highlights.

Deleted text is displayed with a strike through and Added text is displayed with an underline. All in back and white.

OR a work-around is to navigate to the standard in the most current version of the standards manual. Use the CALEA summary as a reference to know which standards have substantial changes and that you may want to compare.

At the standard level,

· click the History Tab

· select the two versions you want to compare

· click Compare

You will then see a colored mark up of the changes.
