WHEELING, W.Va., May 20 - Dr. Teresa Busick, Program Lead for the Bachelor of Science in Psychology program, is the recipient of the Wheeling University 2026 Rev. Edward Gannon, S.J. Outstanding Teaching Award.
This award is given annually at Commencement to recognize a faculty member who is an outstanding teacher and scholar during the academic year. The person should also exemplify the Catholic tradition of service to the University and the greater community.
Busick, a resident of Steubenville, Ohio, began teaching at Wheeling University in 2019 as an adjunct in the Psychology Department. She became a full-time faculty member in 2021. In addition to her teaching role, Busick is the coordinator of Research Day.
"It is an incredible honor to receive this distinguished award," Busick said. "I am grateful to my peers and the Student Government Executive Board for nominating me, and I thank the Alumni Council for choosing me as this year's recipient."
Busick said she is thankful for the opportunity to impact the lives of students at Wheeling University on a daily basis.
"Wheeling University is more than a workplace to me-it is a community that feels like family. It has provided an environment where I have been able to grow as an educator, clinician, and leader. I view my role not simply as a profession, but as a calling to serve students by supporting their academic, personal, and professional development," Busick noted.
