HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, as early as October 2, contractor crews will begin work on a sidewalk (ADA) improvement project in Adair County Route V, from Redtail Hawk Lane to Frontage Lane in Gibbs.
Route V will be closed October 2, between Pine Street and Olive Street in Gibbs, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to facilitate culvert installation. Motorists will need to use alternative routes to reach their destinations.
Throughout the project, motorists can expect the following traffic impacts at various locations:
Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control to guide traffic through the work zone. Workers will be present during daylight hours. All work is weather dependent and schedules are subject to change.
This work is being completed as part of MoDOT's initiative for compliance with the current standards of the American's with Disabilities Act (ADA). We ask that motorists please be attentive in work zones for their safety and the safety of highway workers. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur.
The $448,567 contract was awarded this year to Stanton Contracting, LLC of Kirksville, Missouri. This project is scheduled to be completed by December 1, 2025.
