Park Named For One of Two Officers Killed In The Line Of Duty in 2014
Century Communities and the city of Las Vegas will break ground on the new Igor Soldo Memorial Park at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2026. The park will be located at Iron Mountain Road and Alpine Ridge Way.
Mayor Shelley Berkley, Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune and representatives from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Century Communities are scheduled to attend the event.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Officer Igor Soldo and his partner, Officer Alyn Beck, were ambushed and fatally wounded by two armed suspects June 8, 2014.
"Thank you to the Century Communities team for funding this beautiful tribute to Officer Soldo," Councilwoman Nancy Brune said. "I look forward to opening this new park and seeing children playing and families enjoying being together."
The construction of Igor Soldo Memorial Park is being paid for by Century Communities pursuant to a development agreement with the city of Las Vegas.
"This park ensures Officer Soldo's life and service will be remembered for generations to come," said Century Communities Division President Shane Markuson. "We are grateful to the city of Las Vegas, Skye Canyon, and everyone else who advocated for this park and helped bring it to fruition."
Alyn Beck Memorial Park is located at 9220 Brent Lane and was funded by the Olympia Companies.
Igor Soldo Memorial Park will include a playground, water play area, soccer fields and pickleball courts. It is scheduled to open in early 2027.
