NCSBE: 34,000 Deceased Voters Found Through SAVE Initiative

RALEIGH - The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) commends the ongoing efforts by the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) to maintain accurate and up-to-date voter rolls. Today, the NCSBE announced that 34,000 deceased voters were identified through comprehensive data comparison with the federal Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) database.

NCGOP Chairman Jason Simmons said of the announcement:

"Today's announcement makes clear the State Board is taking concerns about election integrity seriously. When concerns over deceased voters have been made previously, they were promptly ignored when partisan Democrats controlled the Board. It is refreshing to see Director Hayes and the Board's current leadership take a proactive approach to confirm only North Carolina citizens can vote in North Carolina elections."
