Lakewood residents can dispose of household hazardous waste and electronic waste for free at EDCO's large transfer facility in Signal Hill on select Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
EDCO previously offered the service on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month.
As of July 2026, the facility is operating on a new schedule, generally offering one drop-off event each month, with some exceptions.
The next event is Saturday, Aug. 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. In September, there will be two dates, Sept. 12 and Sept. 26.
See the full schedule of dates in the sidebar.
