Entries open for Randwick City Council’s 2026 Women’s Art Prize - Randwick City Council

Randwick Council is calling for entries to the 2026 Women's Art Prize, an annual celebration of the creativity of women and girls in the community.

Now in its 21st year, the prize offers emerging and established female artists a platform to showcase their work and skills.

The Women's Art Prize is presented in honour of International Women's Day and is open to artists aged 12 years and over who live, work, study or have a connection to the Randwick Local Government Area (LGA), including those with ancestral ties to Country.

Randwick Deputy Mayor Clare Willington believes the annual prize plays an important role in celebrating creativity while supporting women and girls in the local arts community. "Randwick City has a proud history of supporting the arts, and the Women's Art Prize continues that tradition by creating meaningful opportunities for women and girls to be seen, heard and celebrated through their creative work."

Artists are invited to submit their work in one of four categories:

  • Local: women aged 18+ who live, work or study in the Randwick LGA
  • Youth: young women and girls aged 12-17 years who live in the Randwick LGA
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander: local First Nations women artists
  • Open: women and girls with a connection to the Randwick LGA

Winners will be announced on Saturday 7 March 2026 at special presentation from 2.30 to 4.30 pm at Randwick Town Hall. Winners and runners-up of each category will receive cash prizes. There will also be Councillor's Choice and People's Choice prizes.

Up to 150 entries will be exhibited at Randwick Town Hall from Saturday 7 March to Monday 9 March 2026. A curated selection of 50 artworks will be on display at the Lionel Bowen Library exhibition space from Thursday 12 March to Wednesday 18 March 2026.

Entries are now open and close at 5 pm on Wednesday 18 February 2026. For more information visit: randwick.nsw.gov.au/community/randwick-city/arts-and-culture/creatives-programs/womens-art-prize
