Speedway Children's Charities Sonoma Raises More Than $78,000 During NHRA and Ferrari Challenge Race Weekends

Speedway Children's Charities (SCC) Sonoma, the charitable arm of Sonoma Raceway, announced today that it raised more than $78,000 across two marquee motorsports events this season, with proceeds from the DENSO NHRA Sonoma Nationals and Ferrari Challenge North America directly benefiting children and families in need throughout Sonoma County.

The fundraising success was driven by two unique initiatives that combined the passion of motorsports with a commitment to giving back to the local community.

During NHRA race weekend, SCC Sonoma raised money through its annual Karting For A Cause charity event. The friendly competition featured some of the biggest names in drag racing, including Tony Stewart, Antron Brown, Leah Pruett, Angelle Sampey and Austin Prock, who joined fans and supporters to raise funds for local nonprofits serving Sonoma County children and families.

Just one weekend later, Ferrari Challenge North America added to that momentum by generating additional funds for SCC Sonoma. Through Sonoma Raceway's charitable partnership with the event, every ticket sold directly supported SCC Sonoma's mission of funding local organizations that provide critical programs and services for children and families across Sonoma County.

"With so many local children and families facing challenges, every dollar raised makes a real impact, and we're immensely grateful for the support that helps us make a difference where it's needed most."

The combined fundraising total of more than $78,000 will be distributed through SCC Sonoma's annual grant program, which provides financial support to qualified Sonoma County nonprofit organizations focused on improving the lives of children and families. Since its founding in 2001, SCC Sonoma has distributed millions of dollars in grants to local organizations making a meaningful difference throughout the region.

Grant applications for Speedway Children's Charities Sonoma are currently open through August 1. Eligible Sonoma County nonprofit organizations serving children and families are encouraged to apply for funding through the annual grant program.
