WASHINGTON, DC - Congresswoman Nellie Pou (D-NJ-09), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, praised the passage in committee of her amendment which will make the Midtown Bus Terminal Replacement Project eligible for federal investment under the National Infrastructure Project Assistance Grants Program.
"The Midtown Bus Terminal is a lifeline for middle and working class families across New Jersey who rely on it every single day to get to work and to visit New York and travel throughout our region," said Congresswoman Pou. "For decades, commuters have endured a badly outdated, overcrowded, decaying facility. Overhauling and modernizing the terminal has been years in the making and we are making big progress. My amendment can help unlock additional federal money so we can move this long-overdue project even closer to the finish line and commuters can enjoy a modern bus terminal."
Congresswoman Pou's amendment was made as part of the larger surface transportation reauthorization bill passed by the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
