Research and Recognition: Internal Medicine Residents Shine at the American College of Physicians Maryland Chapter’s Annual Resident Scientific Meeting, Hosted by Ascension[...]

On Thursday, May 7, internal medicine residents and faculty from across Maryland gathered at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital for the 44th annual American College of Physicians (ACP) Maryland Mulholland Mohler Resident Meeting-a day of learning, research presentations, networking and friendly competition.

"Ascension Saint Agnes has hosted this annual scientific meeting for internal medicine residents across the state of Maryland for nearly all of the meeting's 44-year history, demonstrating our long and proud tradition as a teaching hospital," said Rohit Gulati, M.D., Chief Medical and Clinical Officer, Ascension Saint Agnes. "Our Internal Medicine Residency Training Program provides clinical training, fosters academic curiosity, and develops residents into compassionate and confident internal medicine physicians, and is now in its 72nd year."

This year's meeting welcomed over 200 participants from 11 internal medicine residency programs across Maryland, and featured 170 clinical vignettes, 11 research posters, six oral research presentations and 10 oral clinical vignette presentations. The event was supported by 50 judges from internal medicine residency programs across the state, helping highlight and evaluate the outstanding scholarly work.

Ascension Saint Agnes was extremely well represented by our Internal Medicine residents at the ACP conference. Their presentations and posters reflected the academic rigor, dedication and collaborative spirit the Ascension Saint Agnes Internal Medicine program is known for.
