Tampa Convention Center is strengthening its team with the addition of two experienced professionals, reinforcing its commitment to delivering exceptional service for meetings, conventions, conferences, trade shows, and special events.
The center recently welcomed Chris Katsares as one of its National Sales Managers and Melissa Pray as Fiscal Manager, expanding both its Sales and Finance leadership as demand continues to grow from event planners and organizations nationwide.
Elevated Sales Support for Event Planners ¶
Chris Katsares has rejoined the Tampa Convention Center sales team, bringing nearly eight years of previous experience at the facility and a deep understanding of client needs and venue operations. In his role as Account Executive, Katsares will serve the Northeast, Southeast, and local markets, working closely with meeting planners, association executives, and corporate event managers seeking flexible, waterfront event space in Downtown Tampa.
Most recently, Katsares served as Assistant Director of Sales at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. His background also includes extensive experience in hotel sales and hospitality, with roles at properties throughout the Tampa Bay region and beyond. His return strengthens the center's ability to support planners booking conventions, conferences, exhibitions, and galas.
Enhancing Financial Oversight and Operational Excellence ¶
The Tampa Convention Center also welcomed Melissa Pray as its new Fiscal Manager, bringing more than 15 years of experience in local government finance, budgeting, and operational oversight.
Pray has spent the last decade specializing in budget development, financial planning, and analytics, previously serving as Manager of Budget & Analytics for Pinellas County, Assistant Director of the Office of Management and Budget for the City of Savannah, Georgia, and City Manager for the City of McRae-Helena. Her expertise strengthens the center's financial stewardship and supports continued investment in services and operations that benefit clients, partners, and the broader community.
