New One-Year Clinical Data Demonstrates Predictable Performance of the PrimeTaper EV Implant System

A multicenter post-market clinical study conducted across five international centers demonstrated 98.5% implant survival, progressive increases in implant stability, and minimal marginal bone level changes with the PrimeTaper EV implant system. These findings support predictable early clinical performance and reinforce the strength of Dentsply Sirona's evidence-based approach to implant design.

Charlotte, N.C. Dentsply Sirona announces the results of a new multicenter, prospective, post-market clinical study[i] evaluating the one-year performance of the PrimeTaper EV implant system. Conducted across five centers in Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, the United States, and Germany, the open-label, single-arm study followed 136 patients from implant placement through permanent restoration and one year of follow-up after permanent restoration. The study assessed implant survival, stability (measured by insertion torque and resonance frequency analysis), marginal bone level changes, and safety. One year after permanent restoration, implant survival was 98.5% (134 of 136 implants), with an implant success rate of 95.6%. Machine-driven insertions, representing 94.9% of cases, achieved a mean final insertion torque of 31.2 ± 12.7 Ncm. Implant stability, measured by ISQ, increased from 71.8 ± 11.2 at placement to 79.3 ± 6.9 at permanent restoration. Mean marginal bone level changes were minimal, at -0.16 ± 0.51 mm from placement to one-year post-restoration. No serious adverse device effects were reported during the study period.
