On 27 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held bilateral talks with H.E. Mr. Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, during the latter's official visit to Thailand. The visit marked the first official visit by a Lithuanian Foreign Minister to Thailand in 22 years and the Minister's first official visit to an ASEAN Member State following Lithuania's accession to the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia (TAC) at the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting/Post Ministerial Conferences (AMM/PMC) in Manila.

During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas where both countries have shared interests and complementary strengths, including trade, investment, life sciences, cybersecurity, and education. Thailand also sought Lithuania's support for enhancing Thailand - European Union cooperation and for Thailand's accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Both sides also exchanged views on current regional developments.

Following the bilateral talks and luncheon, the Lithuanian Foreign Minister also paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, at the Government House.
