The Bellingham and WWU chapters of Days for Girls will hold their first joint meeting on campus Oct. 8 to produce free, washable menstrual products for the local community and learn more about DfG efforts.
Days for Girlsis an international non-profit created in Whatcom County devoted to advocating for menstrual health equity and eliminating the stigma and limitations associated with menstruation. Local club chapters produce reusable menstrual care product packs for distribution in their own communities and around the world. Next week, students and community members will be cutting fabric and assembling components for kits to distribute locally.
The Bellingham and WWU chapters will hold their first co-meeting Wednesday, Oct. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Academic West 408. Organizers hope this will be the first of many joint meetings with the two chapters. Some food will be provided.
