Hyundai Elevator's All-in-One Smart Hall Button Receives 2026 Good Design Recognition
Hyundai Elevator's All-in-One Smart Hall Button has been selected as a 2026 Good Design (GD) product in the Product Design category, earning the Korean government's official GD certification.
The product integrates an elevator call button, floor indicator and information board into a single display, reducing visual complexity to maximize space utilization and enhance overall design quality.
Its real-time monitoring feature allows passengers to check conditions inside an elevator before it arrives, including congestion levels, available interior space and the presence of pets. The added visibility helps reduce the information gap between the elevator car and waiting area, improving operational efficiency and user reassurance while also supporting crime prevention.
The display provides not only the current floor and operating status but also a range of useful information, including △ weather △ real-time news △ key economic indicators △ building information △ notices.
Accessibility has also been built into the interface. Physical buttons with Braille are located beneath the touchscreen to improve accessibility for visually impaired users and wheelchair users. Raised number shapes further enhance tactile recognition for people with low vision, including those who may not be familiar with Braille.
The device features premium finishes, including a slim black panel and finely textured hairline dark metal. An angled rear structure and lighting create a distinctive floating effect, making the product appear to hover away from the wall while enhancing spatial harmony and overall design quality.
The Good Design program is a government-certified design accreditation hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion. It has been operated since 1985 under Article 6 of the Industrial Design Promotion Act.
"The All-in-One Smart Hall Button was designed with safety, convenience and spatial efficiency in mind throughout the entire user journey, from the moment passengers begin waiting for an elevator until they complete their ride," a Hyundai Elevator official said. "We will continue to expand user-centered design so that everyone can equally benefit from technological innovation."
