I-64 to be temporarily closed for work on Montrose Drive Overpass Bridge beginning Monday, July 27, 2026
All eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 64 will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, Tuesday, July 28, 2026, and Wednesday, July 29, 2026, to remove steel girders from the old Montrose Drive Overpass Bridge.
During construction, westbound I-64 traffic will use the Montrose Drive entrance and exit ramps, Eastbound traffic will be detoured to MacCorkle Avenue to access Kanawha Turnpike to reenter I-64 at Montrose Drive.
Traffic will be shifted outward toward the paved shoulders during construction. All three lanes in each direction will be open between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
