Anna Howell Joins Orrick in London as Global Head of Oil & Gas

• Orrick is adding a two-partner team to its London Energy & Infrastructure platform: Chambers Global Band 1-ranked M&A and projects advisor Anna Howell, who will lead Orrick's global Oil & Gas practice, and Mitasha Chandok, who is a Chambers Global rising star.
• Anna, who most recently served as the co-chair of Gibson Dunn's oil and gas practice group, and Mitasha bring deep experience advising oil and gas majors and private equity funds in cross-border energy transactions, with a focus on the oil and gas, liquefied natural gas, power and mining sectors.
• The duo, who have practiced together for 16 years, cover transactions across Europe, the Asia Pacific, the U.S. and Africa, including M&A, project development and finance, offtake agreements, joint ventures, restructurings and decommissioning.
• With this team, Orrick will have added 14 partners to its global Energy & Infrastructure platform in 2025. The firm also recently added Chambers Band 1 projects advisor Adam Moncrieff in Singapore.

Anna and Mitasha's recent experience includes advising wholly owned subsidiaries of Marathon Oil Corporation on its gas and LNG project in Equatorial Guinea including on a five-year LNG SPA with Glencore Energy UK; ADNOC on its investment in and purchase of LNG from NextDecade's Rio Grande LNG project; KKR on the disposal of its interest in the Acteon Group; Berkshire Hathaway Energy Co. on its acquisition of limited partnership interests in Cove Point LNG from Dominion Energy, Inc.; Marubeni on the disposal of its North Sea business to Ithaca Energy; Marathon Oil on the disposal of its entire UK North Sea oil and gas portfolio to RockRose Energy plc; and Mozambique LNG on a long-term LNG sale and purchase agreement for the sale of 1 million tonnes per annum of LNG to PT Pertamina (Persero).
