In Zagreb, Defence Minister Ermal Nufi met with the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović. The meeting once again reaffirmed the close partnership between Albania and Croatia as NATO Allies.
During the meeting, both sides emphasised that the primary objective of cooperation between Albania and Croatia is to preserve and strengthen peace and stability in Southeast Europe, as a shared interest of both countries.
Regarding cooperation in the field of security and defence, it was underlined that engagement between the two NATO member states continues to develop within the framework of the Alliance.
Concrete areas of cooperation include the development of military capabilities, the training of human capital through advanced military education programmes, and the enhancement of operational interoperability, including through intensified joint exercises conducted within the framework of the Alliance.
A key point of discussion was the establishment of a legal framework to support technical assistance during Albania's European Union accession process.
Furthermore, President Milanović reaffirmed the continuation of cooperation with Albania through multilateral initiatives, particularly through the U.S.-Adriatic Charter (A5).
