WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Tim Moore (NC-14) today announced that Charlotte Douglas International Airport has been awarded $28 million through the Federal Aviation Administration's Fiscal Year 2026 Airport Terminal Program.
"As Charlotte continues to grow, we've got to keep up with the infrastructure that supports our economy and connects people across the region," said Congressman Moore. "Charlotte Douglas is one of the busiest airports in the country and a huge driver of our local economy. These improvements will help ensure the airport can continue serving travelers safely, which helps support our sustained growth and new jobs across our region."
The funding will support critical infrastructure improvements at the airport, including upgrades to the roofing system covering the main atrium, south atrium, and Concourse D, along with associated HVAC units.
The grant was awarded through the FAA's Airport Terminal Program, which helps modernize airport terminals and related infrastructure nationwide.
