The event included insights and remarks from DLA Disposition Services Director Mike Cannon, who also encouraged questions from the group to help enhance the information being delivered.

"We're here to support you, your training, and your mission," Cannon said. "With everything from old vehicles, or our services here in the facility, our workforce is focused on supporting your needs."

The briefing provided the local Army National Guard unit with tips on the disposal of unwanted material and the most up-to-date customer support for turn-in processes.

"These tutorials are important because they help our customers understand how we can support them and it's a chance to share valuable information about the tools and processes available, like how to handle disposal or find items they can reuse," Disposal Service Representative Program Manager Jen Ganka said. "By delivering these in-person sessions, we make sure they know how to take full advantage of what we offer to make their jobs easier and more efficient."

Those representatives, also known as DSRs, are DLA Disposition Service's front-line customer service specialists to the warfighter. The briefing also provided attendees with an opportunity to discuss how they could better reutilize DLA's excess property at specific locations unique to their specialties.

The regiment learned how DSRs support the warfighter who is not co-located with a DLA Disposition Services site. DSRs can travel to the warfighter to assist with any turn-in questions they may have or provide them with in-person training.

The educational briefing also introduced the Digital DSR to attendees. The online resource on DLA Disposition Services' website offers support that includes a search tool for property, property turn-in tool, and an online scheduler with site locator.

"Digital DSR is an incredibly useful tool because it puts everything our customers need right at their fingertips," Ganka said about the online DLA repository of tools and information for warfighters. "Customers can easily access all the rules, policies, and procedures they need to ensure compliance, saving them time and reducing guesswork."

Ganka also added that she hopes Guard members were able to walk away with a better sense of how to dispose of items properly, find equipment they can reuse, and use tools like Digital DSR, to better learn how to turn in property, schedule a turn-in, search for property, or locate a DLA Disposition Services site around the world.

"Our goal is for customers to leave the brief with a clear understanding of how we can help them. It's all about giving them the knowledge they need to save time, money, and effort," Ganka added.

Visit the Digital DSR for property turn-in information and forms, reutilization information, or find a DLA Disposition Services site by using the Site Locator.
