EXFO launches industry’s fastest 800G validation solution to reclaim sidelined high-value optics and accelerate data center turn-up

HyperBlazer Series combines 100G-800G Ethernet and coherent testing with automated workflows, in-depth optics testing, and 10-second transceiver checks for validation at scale

QUEBEC CITY, October 13, 2026 - EXFO, the network testing experts for fiber-optic and data center infrastructure, today announced HyperBlazer Series, a family of portable, modular 100GE-800GE test solutions that dramatically simplify and accelerate transceiver validation and high-speed link testing in intra-data center and data center interconnect (DCI) environments -helping customers put more high-value optics back into service, reduce replacement costs and improve ROI.

Designed for hyperscalers, data center operators and fiber infrastructure providers, HyperBlazer Series brings together two applications featuring guided workflows. The iOptics+ intelligent application uses automated diagnostics to validate and recover usable transceivers in seconds instead of minutes making it economically viable to test every transceiver, while the Ethernet Services application brings a 10-second transceiver check and testing for high-speed Ethernet, coherent optics, breakout configurations, and cables together in one application that simplifies test setup and guides execution.

"AI infrastructure is being deployed at a pace that is increasing demand for high-speed connectivity and putting greater pressure on transceiver supply," said Sophie Legault, Senior Director, Network Deployment and Operations (ND&O) Business Unit at EXFO. "HyperBlazer Series will help our customers work faster and extract more value from the costly optics they already own-improving ROI while accelerating the DCI turn-up testing needed to support rapidly expanding data center infrastructure."

With HyperBlazer, teams can:

  • Validate and reclaim transceivers in seconds with iOptics+, making high-volume optics testing possible at data center scale, to recover more usable transceivers, avoid unnecessary replacements and substantially improve ROI
  • Simplify 100GE-800GE testing with rate-first workflows that automatically recognize connected transceivers and guide users from setup to results
  • Check transceiver health in 10 seconds, saving valuable test time by catching faulty optics before they cause long-duration bit error rate (BER) or RFC 2544 tests to fail
  • Validate more with one solution, including 400G/800G and 400ZR/800ZR coherent optics across OSFP-RHS, QSFP-DD, and OSFP form factors, plus breakouts, direct attach copper (DAC) cables, active optical cables (AOC), and active electrical cables (AEC)
  • Extend test efficiency with EXFO Exchange through automatic report generation and cloud upload for easier results sharing, with reports capturing transceiver serial numbers and configuration data for traceability and vendor accountability

Faster, simpler validation needed as data centers scale and grow more complex

Rapid expansion is accelerating 400G and 800G deployments across data center environments. Technicians must manage more types of optics and high-speed cables, often using multiple applications and lengthy test procedures. With thousands of transceivers-and tens of thousands in larger data centers-even small validation inefficiencies add up quickly, while usable optics flagged as faulty and left unchecked can tie up significant value in sidelined inventory. In addition, undetected faulty transceivers can cause 12- or 24-hour BER tests to fail, wasting days of costly validation time.

HyperBlazer's iOptics+ application delivers automated diagnostics in seconds, not minutes, making it possible to test every transceiver at data center scale. Technicians can quickly separate faulty optics from usable ones, reclaim good transceivers and return them to inventory, helping reduce unnecessary replacement costs. For DCI turn-up, Ethernet Services consolidates multiple high-speed validation tasks into a single application, reducing workflow complexity and eliminating the need to switch between applications. This helps technicians complete complex validation tasks significantly faster and with greater consistency and accuracy.

Expanding EXFO's data center and DCI test portfolio

With HyperBlazer added to EXFO's portfolio of fiber characterization, inspection, and optical testing solutions, customers can validate the infrastructure supporting AI-era data center networks faster and more efficiently-from the underlying fiber and optical components to 800G Ethernet services and coherent links.
