Anderson County
Palestine crews are scheduled to perform seal coat operations on FM 2574, FM 3309, and FM 1892. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
Anderson County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
Traffic is currently being switched to the new pavement on the westbound lane, while the contractor works on the eastbound lane. Crews will continue work on the bridge deck and rail on the eastbound bridge. Crews will also finalize ditches and slopes. The project will expand the roadway to four lanes with new bridges across the Neches River.

Cherokee County
Cherokee County construction projects updates:
US 175 Widening Project
The following county road intersections will be closed within the project limits:
The contractor is scheduled to continue work on the eastbound side through Cuney. Right of way prep work will also continue on the westbound side. The contractor will also continue drainage work, bridge work, and clearing utilities. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work limits. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. The project consists of expansion to a four-lane roadway with new bridges, grading, asphalt, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage. (This project is in Cherokee County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
SH 204
This week, the contractor is scheduled to cut rumble strips, perform striping, clean culverts, and possibly install signage. Crews will also continue storm water prevention plan operations. Motorists should drive with caution in the work zone. Lane closures are anticipated. This project consists of adding a super-two highway section.
US 79
The contractor is scheduled to lay rumble strips and begin cutting bridge joints. The speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph throughout the project limits. This project consists of rehabilitation of the existing road, including pavement repair, resurfacing, metal beam guard fence, and pavement markings.
US 69 and FM 2493 Grade Separated Interchange Realignment
The contractor is scheduled to complete repairs underneath the bridge. They will also install curbs, mow strips and reinstall the metal beam guard fence. No lane closures are expected, but motorists should drive with caution. The project consists of a grade separated interchange and realignment of FM 2493 West of US 69.

Gregg County
Crews in Longview are scheduled to perform sweeping operations on SH 31 W, from FM 349 to FM 1639, eastbound to westbound. Crews are also scheduled to perform ditch maintenance operations on SH 149 in the outside, southbound lane. Work will start at Stanley St. Southbound traffic will be down to one lane throughout the work zone. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.
Gregg County construction projects updates:
FM 2275
The project consists of widening from two lanes to four lanes. This will include a new bridge structure, pavement, metal beam guard fence, and striping. Crews will be clearing the right of way. Crews may also place temporary asphalt for traffic control, depending on progress. The contractor is also expected to install storm culverts.
US 80
The project consists of removing four inches of existing surface and replacing with new hot mix. The project will also include striping and pavement markings. This week, the contractor is scheduled to perform punch list items.
Young St. - City of Longview
This project consists of constructing sidewalks and accessible ramps for people with disabilities on both sides of Mobberly Ave. This week, the contractor will be clearing right of way and pouring concrete for the sidewalk on the south side of the street.
SH 135 - Kilgore Traffic Circle
This project involves rebuilding the traffic circle and the entire width of the roadway to the Rusk County line. This week, crews are scheduled to complete punch list items.
I-20 Resurfacing
This project consists of milling asphalt off the surface and placing new hot mix asphalt from the Sabine River bridge to the Harrison County line. Work will be done in both the east and westbound lanes. Work is scheduled for overnight hours. One lane will be closed at a time. The contractor is scheduled to place embankment, rumble strips, and signage.

Henderson County
Crews in Athens are scheduled to perform resurfacing on FM 2613. Motorists should expect delays with flaggers and a pilot vehicle controlling traffic.
Henderson County construction projects updates:
FM 315 Rehabilitation
BUS 19 Sidewalks
The contractor is placing concrete for the sidewalks and driveways on the west side of the road. Motorists should expect lane closures while work is in progress. The project includes sidewalk and pedestrian access improvements.
SH 19 Super 2 Project
The contractor has begun cement treating for roadway widening in the southbound lane. Crews are also expected to place flex base material in the southbound lane. Crews are also scheduled to mow. The speed limit is reduced to 60 mph throughout the project limits. This project includes adding passing lanes in both directions at multiple locations. It also includes grading, drainage structures, pavement markings, and signage.
BUS 31 Rehabilitation
All major work items are complete. Crews are scheduled to begin cleaning and sweeping the roadway. Nighttime operations are scheduled to continue this week. Motorists should expect lane closures. The project includes removal of current surface, base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and signage. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the nighttime work zone and expect pavement striping operations during the day.
SH 31 at Sawmill Rd.
The new traffic signal is operational. Testing is in progress. This project consists of installing a traffic control and pedestrian control signal.

Rusk County
Crews in Henderson are scheduled to repair base failures and repair edges on FM 1798. Motorists should expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Contractor crews are scheduled to trim and remove trees at various locations. Also, contract mowers will also be at various locations throughout the county.
Rusk County construction projects updates:
US 84 - FM 225 East to CR 3155
This project includes reconstruction of US 84, extended structures, a hot mix asphalt surface, new signage, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to lay the hot mix asphalt surface. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures.
SH 315
This project consists of widening pavement edges and installing a separation between opposing traffic lanes to improve safety. Work will also include adding a passing lane in each direction. This week, the contractor is scheduled to lay asphalt. Motorists should expect alternating lane closures. Crews will also perform striping and guard fence installation.
FM 2658
The project involves full reconstruction of FM 2658, from CR 344 to FM 1251. Work includes a new guard fence, treating subgrade, base material, seal coat, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to complete punch list items.
SH 43
This project consists of milling approximately six inches off the surface and replacing it with new hot mix. The project also includes clearing the right of way, replacing driveway pipes, and striping. This week, the contractor is scheduled to place final striping and performing edge work along the pavement. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic.

Smith County
Tyler Maintenance crews will perform mill and inlay on FM 346, moving east from FM 756 to CR 2142. A second crew will continue to address ditch and drainage issues throughout the county. Contract crews will continue mowing and litter removal at various locations in the northeast sector of the county. Tree trimming operations will also continue throughout the county.
Smith County construction projects updates:
US 69 Rehab Existing Road and Restricted Crossing U-Turn (R-Cut)
The contractor is scheduled to clean and seal the bridge joints at the Mudd Creek bridge. This work will be done during daytime hours. No lane closures are expected. This project consists of rehabilitating existing roadway and installing a restricted crossing U-turn (R-Cut) at the FM 2813 intersection.
FM 2493 Widen Non-Freeway
The contractor has scheduled daily lane closures from 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. from S. Kimberly Dr. to CR 150. The closures are scheduled to last through Oct. 3. Beginning Monday, September 22, the entrance to CR 172 will be closed. This closure is scheduled to last for two weeks. Motorists should plan ahead and drive with caution. This project consists of widening the existing non-freeway roadway.
I-20 Bridge Maintenance
The contractor has no work scheduled this week. This project is bridge maintenance, consisting of cleaning and painting existing steel bridge superstructures.
Pedestrian Sidewalks & Curb Ramps
This work will be at various locations throughout the Tyler city limits. The contractor will be pouring concrete and preparing to relocate to the intersection of Glenwood and Front Street. Motorists should drive with caution. Lane closures are possible. The project consists of upgrading pedestrian safety measures at various intersections.
Smith County Bridge Rehabilitation
The contractor is scheduled to remove debris and material beneath the US 175 and SL 7 bridge. This project consists of cleaning and sealing the existing bridge joints, asphalt work, resurfacing the bridge deck, installing new metal beam guard fencing, steel and concrete repairs.
I-20 Bridge Maintenance
The contractor has installed temporary traffic signals on CR 496 under I-20 to manage one-lane traffic. Signals will operate at all times. One lane will remain open at all times. Crews are scheduled to begin bridge maintenance in this area. At Jim Hogg Rd (CR 431), the U-turn from eastbound to westbound I-20 frontage road will be closed. Motorists should expect reduced lane widths and intermittent shoulder closures under the bridges at Jim Hogg Rd. The U-turn from eastbound to westbound I-20 frontage road between Jim Hogg Rd and US 69 will be closed. Additionally, the westbound I-20 shoulder and entrance ramp after Jim Hogg Rd will be closed. Drivers will need to use the entrance ramp at US 69. This project is bridge maintenance consisting of cleaning and painting the existing steel bridge structures.
FM 16 Widening and Realignment
The project consists of grading, asphalt base, asphalt surface overlay paving, storm drain, bridge, and culvert structures, signing, pavement markings, and signals. A traffic shift is currently in place through town. Traffic will be in two lanes during this phase of construction. Embankment installation is ongoing as well as seal coat operations. Bridge work is ongoing. (This project is in Smith County but is managed by the Mineola Area Office.)
SH 31 Resurfacing
The contractor is scheduled to work on the pavement edges. Crews are also scheduled to remove the rumble strips and begin striping operations. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through area. This project includes base repairs, resurfacing, striping, and sign installation. Van Zandt County
Van Zandt County construction projects updates:
FM 17, FM 47, and FM 859 Bridge Replacement
This project includes construction of new bridges and approaches, grading, base and surface work, and installation of metal beam guard fencing. Motorists should expect reduced speed limits and narrowed shoulders on both the I-20 main lanes and frontage roads. On FM 17, crews are scheduled to complete the driveways along the ramp. Crews will also place the final surface. The bridge is open to traffic. The westbound ramp is scheduled to remain closed. Striping and sign installation to soon follow. The FM 47 bridge is open to traffic. Crews are scheduled to install the eastbound frontage road driveways, then pave. Motorists should expect daily lane closures for two-way single lanes. Striping and sign installation will soon follow. On FM 859, crews are scheduled to perform striping and signage installation.
FM 1255 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
This project is for the rehabilitation of the existing roadway consisting of roadway widening, grading, rework base material, cement treatment, flex base, resurfacing intersections & driveways, extending cross structures, signs, and pavement markings. Work will be completed under live traffic conditions. Right of way prep and tree trimming are ongoing. Roadway rehabilitation operations and cross structure installation are ongoing. This work also consists of milling the existing roadway. Lane closures and speed zone reductions are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
I-20 WB Exit Ramp at SH 19
This project consists of ramp improvements. Crews have begun work on drainage structures and frontage road alignment. Crews are scheduled to sealcoat over the new paved section, followed by striping operations. Final closeout activities will follow.
E Tyler St. at Mill Creek Bridge
This project includes bridge replacement, new approaches, grading, and base repairs. The contractor is nearing completion and is working on closeout items. E. Tyler Street is closed to through traffic.
SH 64 at I-20 and SH 155 at I-20 Traffic Signal Installation
The project includes the construction and installation of traffic control devices including pedestrian signals. The SH 64 intersection striping layout has been completed. SH 155 intersection signals are complete and functioning. The frontage roads between SH 155 and Lawhon Ave. have been converted to one-way travel only. Major work and punch list items have been completed. The project is currently awaiting final acceptance.
FM 1651 Rehabilitate Existing Roadway
The contractor has initiated treatment of the roadway. The contractor is also scheduled to begin work at the FM 1651 intersection. This project is focused on fixing and improving the existing road. Work includes widening the road, repairing the base, adding signs, and painting new stripes. Crews will complete groundwork in one-mile segments. Drivers should expect lane closures and slower speed limits in the area. Motorists should expect delays. (This project is in Van Zandt County but is managed by the Athens Area Office.)
FM 279 Rehabilitation
Crews are scheduled to work on the pavement edges. Crews will also perform repairs to the bridge. Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through the area. This week, crews are scheduled to overlay on SP 514 between FM 514 and the dead end at Lake Fork. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Crews will also perform edge repairs on FM 778 between SH 37 and US 80. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic. Crews will also overlay on FM 69 between FM 515 and the Hopkins County line. Crews will also perform bridge inspection and maintenance at various locations throughout the county. Herbicide operations will also continue.
Wood County construction projects updates:
US 69 Grade-Separated Interchange
This project consists of grading, base, asphalt, drainage, structures, overpass, signing, and striping. The project also includes curb and gutter work along the frontage roads. Also, crews are preparing foundations for the retaining wall. Crews are scheduled to place temporary pavement at the FM 779 intersection on the west side. Crews are also scheduled to work on the retaining walls. Motorists should use caution due to large equipment operating in the work zone. Lane closures are expected. Motorists should expect delays.
