PHilMech Takes Part in AgriLink 2026, Showcases CFIDP Shared Facilities for Processing

The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) once again participated as one of the event sponsors and exhibitors at Agrilink 2026, held from October 8 to 10, 2026, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Metro Manila.

The event kicked off with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary for Operations and Agri-Fisheries Mechanization Roger V. Navarro formally opened the international trade fair on behalf of DA Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the vital role of agriculture in building a sustainable future and the need to maximize its potential to drive lasting growth. Director III Joel V. Dator represented PHilMech on behalf of Director IV Dr. Dionisio G. Alvindia during the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Anchored on this year's Agrilink theme, "Agri-Food Hub Facilities: A Boost to Efficiency in the Value and Market Chains," PHilMech's main booth featured the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan-Shared Facilities for Processing (CFIDP-SFP), highlighting various shared facilities for processing, including the Generic VCO-Based Premium Cooking Oil Processing Facility, White Copra and Refined, Bleached, and Deodorized Oil (RBDO) Processing Center, Coco Peat, Coir, and Geonets Shared Facility for Processing, Coconut Sugar and Nectar Processing Center, and Coconut Husk Chips Processing Center.

The main booth also showcased value-added coconut products, including white copra from Aguipo Coconut Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC); virgin coconut oil from Bohol Coconut Prime Movers MPC; coconut juice from Libas Farmers MPC; coco geonet, coir, and coco rope from Mabini United Farmers Cooperative; and coconut sugar from Ragay Coco Sentral Agriculture Cooperative. Personnel from the Coconut Trust Fund - Facility Management and Operations Division assisted booth visitors with inquiries on the showcased facilities and products, while the Applied Communication Division (ACD) provided information on PHilMech's programs and services.

Meanwhile, PHilMech's retail booth featured products from nine enterprises assisted by the Enterprises Development Division. These included cashew nuts from Alion SEA-K Gracielo's Association, Inc.; coffee in various varieties and blends from Casile-Guinting Upland Marketing Cooperative, Minoyan Murcia Marginal Growers Association, Inc., Pinagdanlayan MPC, Caskilan Wheels Farmers Association, Inc., and Sagada Arabica Coffee Growers; and rice products, including premium, fortified, pinawa, and brown rice, from Sta. Catalina MPC, CamSur MPC, and Bagong Anyo Nampicuan-Cuyapo Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc. These products were available for purchase at the retail booth throughout the three-day event.

Booth visitors were also provided with IEC materials and advocacy collaterals featuring PHilMech's banner programs, including the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Program and CFIDP, as well as technologies developed by PHilMech and information about Radyo Agri 90.1 FM, PHilMech's community radio station.

AgriLink 2026 is the 31st edition of the International Agribusiness Exhibition and Seminars, held in conjunction with the 25th International Food Processing, Packaging and Products Exhibition (FoodLink) and the 20th National Fisheries Exhibition and Seminars (AquaLink). Organized by the Foundation for Resource Linkage and Development, Inc. (FRLD), AgriLink has been the Philippines' largest and most influential international trade exhibition for agriculture, food, aquaculture, and agribusiness for more than three decades.
