The international trading platform ITS has completed a regular rebalancing of the ITS Shariah Index (ITSS), updating the list of shares of 30 leading global companies whose business activities comply with Islamic principles. The changes take effect on March 10, 2026.
With the rebalancing, five new issuers were added to the index. Shares of Applied Materials, Inc. (AMAT) were included after Sahih Invest, the independent screening provider for ITSS, assigned the company's shares a "Permissible" status in December 2025. Shares of KLA Corporation (KLAC) and Texas Instruments Incorporated (TXN) were added following increases in their average market capitalisation of 17% and 13%, respectively. Shares of NextEra Energy, Inc. (NEE) and Amphenol Corporation (APH) were added to replace excluded issuers.
At the same time, five companies were removed from the index. ServiceNow, Inc. (NOW) was excluded following a 19% decline in its average market capitalisation. Qualcomm Incorporated (QCOM) and Uber Technologies, Inc. (UBER) were removed in favour of the newly added issuers after their average market capitalisation declined by 6% and 9%, respectively. Booking Holdings Inc. (BKNG) and Arista Networks, Inc. (ANET) were also removed in favour of the newly added constituents. In addition, Oracle Corporation's (ORCL) weight in the index was reduced by 1.92% following a 12% decline in the company's market capitalisation.
The ITS Shariah Index includes shares of 30 of the largest global companies recognised as compliant with Islamic principles by Sahih Invest, an independent company, based on Shariah screening conducted in accordance with AAOIFI standards. The weight of any single issuer in the index is capped at 10%.
The ITS Shariah Index serves as the benchmark for the ITSS ETF, the first Shariah-compliant ETF in Central Asia and the Caucasus. It was launched by ITS together with asset manager IPS Capital in the jurisdiction of the Astana International Financial Centre. The fund's shares are denominated in U.S. dollars, and investment income is exempt from tax for Kazakhstan tax residents.
