ROUNDABOUT CONSTRUCTION ON THE INTERSECTION OF SR 74 AND SR 42

WHAT: GDOT contractors are shifting traffic onto the newly constructed detour roads to take traffic around the intersection of SR 74 @ SR 42 for the construction of the northeastern portion of the dog Bone roundabout. The traffic shift will begin on September 19, 2025 and remain in place for approximately 6 months.

Warning signs have been placed to notify motorists in advance. Drivers are encouraged to stay alert while traveling through the area and to reduce their speed.

WHERE: SR 74/SR 42, Monroe County

Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
