The City of Tuscaloosa held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Police Logistics Building on Thursday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox, Councilor Raevan Howard and Acting Chief of Police Severn "Sebo" Sanders spoke during the ceremony.
"Today's ribbon cutting marks a significant milestone for the City of Tuscaloosa," Mayor Walt Maddox said. "This new logistics building enhances the operational foundation of the Tuscaloosa Police Department and strengthens how we deliver public safety services. This $1.27 million investment reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring that public safety is the City's top priority and that everyone who calls Tuscaloosa home is safe."
The new Police Logistics Building features heated storage for vehicles and assets, 2,550 square feet of additional covered parking space, updated lighting and security cameras and ADA access.
"This new logistics building reflects the strong commitment of Mayor Maddox and the Tuscaloosa City Council to ensure the Tuscaloosa Police Department has the tools and resources needed to keep our community safe," Acting Chief of Police Severn "Sebo" Sanders said. "We are grateful for their continued support in making this project a reality."
Construction for the project began in 2025.
