Meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan with the US Secretary of State

On 30 June 2026, in Washington DC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, held a meeting with the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of relations between Tajikistan and the USA, reaffirming their mutual interest in further strengthening the bilateral partnership based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and long-term mutually beneficial cooperation.

The parties held detailed discussions on expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, including increasing bilateral trade, improving the investment climate, and encouraging greater participation of U.S. companies in priority sectors of Tajikistan's economy. Opportunities for cooperation in industry, energy, transport infrastructure, and the digital transformation were likewise highlighted.

Sirojiddin Muhriddin and Marco Rubio also exchanged views on regional security issues. The two sides reaffirmed their readiness to continue strengthening cooperation in combating extremism, terrorism, and transnational crime, while emphasizing the importance of enhancing stability and promoting sustainable development in Central Asia.
