ADM Partners with Hill's Pet Nutrition in North America and EMEA to Support Farm Resilience through Regenerative Agriculture

ROLLE - ADM (NYSE: ADM), a global leader in innovative solutions from nature, today announced its partnership with Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc, a global leader in science-led pet nutrition, aiming to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture practices across farms in Illinois and Minnesota in the U.S., as well as Hungary in Europe. The collaboration seeks to expand the benefits of regenerative agriculture to crops within the pet food value chain, while empowering local farmers with the tools and incentives needed to make measurable changes at the field level that provide long-term impacts for soil and watershed health, biodiversity and farm operating resilience.

The multi-year initiative is designed to engage, educate and incentivize farmers to implement regenerative agriculture practices across approximately 16,000 acres of corn and soybean fields in Minnesota and Illinois, in addition to enrolling about 2,500 acres (1,000 hectares) of soybean fields in Hungary, as part of a pilot program for 2025. For its European business, Hungary serves as a key origin for ADM's soybean sourcing, enabling supply to its local plants and downstream facilities in Straubing and Mainz via the Danube and Rhine rivers. Between both regions, the program aims to enhance soil health, reduce carbon intensity, reduce soil erosion, improve water quality, increase biodiversity and support long-term agricultural resilience at the field level.

"Farmers are at the heart of our pet food system, and this partnership enables us to support regenerative agriculture while sourcing high-quality ingredients grown with care for the land," said Greg Morris, SVP and President, Ag Services & Oilseeds, ADM. "By joining forces with Hill's Pet Nutrition, we're helping meet a growing demand from conscientious pet parents for sustainably sourced ingredients while making a meaningful difference in their communities, from farm field to pet food bowl."

Participating farmers will receive financial incentives tied to adopting regenerative agriculture practices - such as implementing fertilizer efficiency programs, cover crops or companion cropping - and measurable outcomes. These incentives will help offset the costs of regenerative practices and reward farmers for positive environmental impacts. Additionally, ADM will leverage support from its network of data and implementation assistance partners to provide technical support, peer-networking opportunities and field-level education, as well as manage data collection, field monitoring and outcome reporting to verify environmental and economic impacts.

"At Hill's, our commitment to science-led nutrition starts long before a pet's meal is prepared-it begins in the soil where our ingredients are grown," said Dave Baloga, EVP of Hill's Science and Technology. "Because grains like corn and soy are foundational to our recipes, partnering with ADM to support regenerative farming is a natural extension of our purpose of reimagining a resilient future for all people, their pets and our planet. By investing in the health of the land, we are safeguarding the future of agriculture and the high-quality ingredients that pet parents trust us to provide for generations of pets to come."
