In partnership with the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) and Watch for Me OK, the City of Norman will host a Bike to Work Day event on May 15, 2026.
Bike to Work Day encourages people to use their bikes as a means of transportation. Those interested in participating can meet on bicycles at 7:45 a.m. on May 15 in one of three places - Murray Case Sells Swim Complex, 1701 Asp Avenue; Norman Community Dog Park, 1500 12th Avenue NE; Young Family Athletic Center, 2201 Trae Young Drive - to then ride to Andrews Park at 201 W. Daws Street. All parties will arrive at Andrews Park by 8:30 a.m. and converge with fellow cyclists and local dignitaries to learn more about cyclist resources and upcoming infrastructure projects that will benefit cyclists. "Biking to work can boost physical and mental health, reduce carbon emissions and save people money on fuel," said David Riesland, Transportation Engineer at the City of Norman. "We are looking forward to another Bike to Work Day event with friends and neighbors."
