Belarusian-Indian interministerial consultations

On October 27, 2025 the eighth round of consultations on general political issues between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India took place in Minsk.

The Belarusian side was led by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Evgeny Shestakov, and the Indian side by Secretary (West), Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George.

The parties noted the significant intensification of bilateral contacts amid the current geopolitical turbulence in the world, which confirms the high level of mutual trust and support between the parties, and also provides a basis for further intensification and expansion of bilateral ties.

The talks covered the full range of issues related to Belarusian-Indian relations, including the development of political dialogue, increasing mutual trade and manufacturing cooperation, expanding the legal framework, bilateral interaction within international organizations, cooperation with the EAEU, SCO, and BRICS, and promoting the establishment of direct bilateral contacts in humanitarian areas. An exchange of views on a number of pressing issues on the regional and global agendas took place.

The parties noted that the existing potential for bilateral cooperation is not being fully realized and that there are a wide range of areas of mutual interest.

The head of the Indian delegation was received by Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus. The parties noted the dynamic development of cooperation between Belarus and India in key areas, including political, economic, humanitarian, and others.
