In advance of the upcoming Veterans Day holiday, Cass County Government has announced that county buildings will be illuminated green November 4th through the 11th as part of Operation Green Light for veterans, a nationwide effort to support military veterans. The initiative, led by the National Association of Counties, raises awareness around the unique challenges faced by many veterans and the resources available at the county, state, and federal levels to assist veterans and their families.
"We're excited again participate in Operation Green Light as Cass County and all veterans need to be continuously supported, recognized and respected with the shining of the green light," said Cass County Veterans Services Director Chris Deery. "Our office is here to help, and the green light hopefully inspires more veterans to use the services they fought for and deserve."
In addition to lighting county buildings, residents, businesses and other organizations are encouraged to participate by simply changing one light bulb in their home to a green bulb. This can be an exterior light that neighbors and passersby see, or an interior light that sparks a conversation with friends. By shining a green light, we let our veterans know that they are seen, appreciated, and supported.
