Escambia County Collects Over 2 Million Cubic Yards of Hurricane Isaias Debris

Escambia County has collected over 2 million cubic yards of Hurricane Isaias debris so far, with county crews and contractors continuing to actively collect debris generated from the storm.

Residents may track the ongoing progress of Hurricane Isaias debris collection in the county using the interactive online dashboard at MyEscambia.com/debris.

As Hurricane Isaias debris removal continues throughout Escambia County, residents are reminded to follow important debris collection guidelines such as properly sorting debris to prevent any delays for county contractors and staff.

Please note that debris collection is only for materials generated by Hurricane Isaias.

Residents should place any storm-generated debris on the public right-of-way. The right-of-way includes the area of residential property that extends from the street to the sidewalk, ditch, utility pole or easement. Only debris placed on the public right-of-way will be eligible for collection.

Residents should refrain from bagging debris. Bagged debris is not eligible for collection.

Debris should be properly sorted to prevent any delays with debris removal. Residents should separate debris as follows:

  • Vegetative debris: Whole trees, tree stumps, tree branches, tree trunks and other leafy material.
  • Construction and demolition debris: Damaged components of buildings and structures such lumber and wood, fencing, wall board, glass, metal, roofing materials, and tile.

Additional guidelines:

  • Only loose debris will be collected. Do not bag debris.
  • Do not stack debris below low-hanging power or utility lines.
  • Residential only. No commercial debris.

Do not place debris within 4 feet of:

  • Mailboxes
  • Water meters
  • Fire hydrants or any other above-ground utility

Escambia County appreciates the public's patience as crews work to collect all hurricane debris as safely and efficiently as possible. Crews will make several passes to collect all debris, so residents can keep placing debris curbside if everything is not collected on the first pass.

Escambia County will make an announcement prior to the final pass for debris collection, so residents are encouraged to monitor myescambia.com or the Escambia County Facebook page for updates.

Escambia County residents with questions about hurricane debris collection are encouraged to call 850-332-1226 to reach the debris pickup call center, which is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
