Head of the Chinese Mission to the African Union Ambassador Jiang Feng Meets with the UNAIDS Representative to the AU and Ethiopia

On July 17, H.E. Ambassador Jiang Feng, Head of the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the African Union, met with Ms. Rosemary Museminali, UNAIDS Representative to the African Union and Ethiopia. Minister Counselor Lyu Ruihao was present at the meeting.

Ambassador Jiang stated that China commends the vital role played by UNAIDS in global HIV/AIDS prevention and control. Guided by the principles of sincerity, real results, amity and good faith for China's Africa policy and the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind, China actively supports Africa's HIV/AIDS response. We stand ready to deepen cooperation with UNAIDS and jointly build a stronger safety net for global public health security.

Ms. Museminali expressed gratitude for China's long-standing robust support to UNAIDS. She voiced readiness to strengthen cooperation with China on HIV/AIDS prevention and control, boost access to pharmaceutical products across Africa, jointly implement the Health Partnership Initiative under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, and contribute to improving the health of African peoples.
