Eurogas is hiring a Policy Intern | Sustainable Finance and Carbon Markets

The position

We are looking for a Policy Intern to reinforce our team on Sustainable Finance and Carbon Markets topics, which are critical for unlocking the investment required for the transition. The implementation and review of the EU Taxonomy Regulation, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), alongside the ongoing evolution of the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) will be key priorities for our association in the coming months.

What you will do/learn to do

  • Support Eurogas' policy and advocacy work on sustainable finance and EU carbon markets
  • Draft position papers, briefings, consultation responses and internal notes on EU legislative and regulatory initiatives
  • Monitor, track, analyse the developments/implications of EU sustainable finance/carbon markets policies
  • Collaborate with Eurogas members, EU institutions, external stakeholders and partner organisations
  • Support and join Eurogas delegations in meetings with policymakers, events and stakeholder coalitions

What you bring

  • An advanced university degree ex. EU Affairs, Economics, Finance, European Law, Political Science or other relevant degrees
  • Familiarity with the EU decision-making process; prior practical experience is an asset
  • Strong interest in EU climate policy, carbon markets and sustainable finance
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written)
  • Ability to be concise, a self-starter, a good team player, and keen attention to detail are required
  • Eligibility to work in Belgium
