ARLINGTON, Texas - Texas Health Resources, the nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other, has earned 17 four- or five-star ratings in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Overall Hospital Star Ratings for eligible Texas Health hospitals.
This systemwide achievement reflects Texas Health's ongoing commitment to delivering safe, high quality, patient centered care and advances the organization's Mission to improve the health of the communities we serve.
"Reaching four- and five- star performance reflects the consistency, teamwork and accountability our care teams bring to their work every day," said Barclay Berdan, FACHE, chief executive officer. "These ratings reinforce our focus on providing exceptional care and meaningful experiences for every patient we serve."
The ratings track common conditions treated in hospitals, such as heart attacks and pneumonia. The overall hospital rating, which also includes patients' perspectives on the care they received, shows how well each hospital performed on average compared to other hospitals nationwide. These ratings are then placed in Hospital Care, a consumer-oriented website that provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients
Texas Health's four- and five-star ratings reflect a strong focus on quality measures and our commitment to continuously improving care.
CMS star ratings are one of many tools Texas Health uses to evaluate performance and guide improvement.
