City Council To Recognize Local Woman Who Cares For Community Healing Garden

Garden Was Built By Volunteers In Five-Days Following Route 91 Harvest Festival Attack Oct. 1, 2017

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize Sue Ann Cornwell for her work in the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden at the Sept. 17, 2025, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

Mayor Shelley Berkley will recognize Cornwell, who is a survivor of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting Oct. 1, 2017. Cornwell has become a volunteer caretaker of the Las Vegas Community Healing Garden, which was built in the five days following the tragedy by volunteers as a place of remembrance and healing in the city.

The meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV.
